Maddoxs  (Netherlands, Blues Rock)  -  mało znane zespoły

Świetna, holenderska blues rockowa formacja, której jedyny  (unikatowy)  singiel  ("biały kruk"

kolekcjonerski) :

- "Never Realized"

- "Searching"

nagrano  (Menga Studio - Bodo Borchert - Gelsenkirchen, Germany)  w 1968r. - w składzie :

- Kees Terwel  -  guitar

- Jos Veldhuizen  -  vocals

- Henk ter Horst  -  drums

- Jerry Quelle  -  bass,

wydany został  (private press - Menga, MES 1120)  przypuszczalnie dopiero w 1970r.

Grupa Maddoxs powstała w Brummen / Apeldoorn  w 1964r. - pierwotnie w składzie :

- Lucius Messelink  -  lead vocals

- Kees Terwel  -  lead guitar

- Henk ter Horst  -  drums

- Jerry Quelle  -  bass

- Hans Lindeboom  -  rhythm guitar,

jako R & B formacja, a niespełna dla lata póżniej stała się bluesowym zespołem, stylistycznie

zbliżonym do późniejszych dokonań Peter Green And Fleetwood Mac, czy rodzimego Cuby And

The Blizzards.

W 1965r. Jos W. Veldhuizen  (lead vocals)  zastąpił dotychczasowego wokalistę - Lucius'a

Messelink'a.  Rok później  (1966)  z zespołem pożegnał się Hans Lindeboom.

Maddoxs z sukcesami  (pierwsza nagroda na European Blues Festival w Recklinghausen, Germany)

koncertowali w Niemczech, a także występowali na krajowej scenie  (m.in. jako grupa wsparcia

John Mayall, Cuby And The Blizzards).

W 1972r. odeszło dwóch członków oryginalnego składu :

- Jerry Quelle  (zastąpiony przez Peter van Eyk - bass)

- Henk ter Horst  (na jego miejsce pozyskano Eric Broer van Dijk - drums).

W połowie lat 70-tych Jos Veldhuizen odszedł z zespołu i założył formację Teaser, w której

(w pierwszym składzie) grał także basista - Peter van Eyk. 

Gitarzysta Kees Terwel założył grupę Montezuma z Apeldoorn.

"... Hello Paul, I’m just now reading your message. The first line-up from Maddoxs were Lucius Messelink Lead singer, Kees Terwel guitar, Hans Lindeboom guitar, Jerry Quelle (Rip) Bass, Henk Terhorst (Rip) Drums. In 1965 de Leadsinger left and I jointed in. My name is Jos W. Veldhuizen. In 1966 Hans Lindenboom also left the band. In 1972 our drumplayer and the Bassplayer left. The line-up then was Jos W. veldhuizen Leadsinger, Kees Terwel on guitar, Peter van Eyk on Bass and Eric Broer van Dijk on Drums. The line-up by in 1968 single was Jos singer, Kees guitar, Jerry Bass and Henk on Drums. No other records were made. But I do have A life CD of a gig in Vreden, Germany. Maybe I can send this to you. Jerry was a native Dutchman. His parents came from Ambon, Indonesia. Throughout the years many mucisians played in Maddoxs . Kees guitar and later Hans were always in. Later In 2005 Lucius, the first singer jointed The Band. They are still playing. Maddoxs was My first band. I was 15 Years. In 1975, I met Adrian VandenBerg ( Whitesnake, The Mookings) and we started the band Teaser. Also Peter van Eyk, Bass, played in this first line-up. We made one album and three singles. In 1979 did I left Teaser After the drum and Bass were changed. I went to play in A bluesband called Flavium. They (We) made 18 albums and. Lot of singles and toured throughout Europe.
