Omnibus (Pennsylvania - US, Hard Rock) - mało znane zespoły
Zbierając informacje na temat tego zespołu, udało mi się nawiązać kontakt z Blair King (perkusista Omnibus), któremu serdecznie dziękuję za materiały (audio, zdjęcia) i informacje o tej grupie.
Omnibus - formacja z Pennsylvania, US, powstała w Landisville (Lancaster County) w 1972r.
w składzie :
- Gael King - vocals (starsza siostra Blair'a)
- Kenny Kaye - keyboards, guitar
- Dan Glasse - vocals, percussion
- Blair King - drums
- Jeffrey Morrison - lead guitar
- Jim Pontz - bass.
Grupa działała na obszarze północno-wschodnich terenów USA (Pennsylvania, New Jork, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey).
W 1973r. ukazał się ich singiel (jedyne wydawnictwo tego zespołu) :
- "Surprise, Surprise, Surprise"
- "Take Your Only Chance"
(1973, POT Records, P-1000),
nagrany w Virtue Studios w Filadelfii i wyprodukowany przez Pancho Villa.
Oryginalny skład Omnibus rozpadł się około 1974r. (odeszli - Blair i Gael).
Grupa kontynuowała działalność przez krótki czas, a następnie po zreformowaniu
przyjęła nową nazwę - Torch.
Blair King - napisał :
"...Hi Paul. Ominbus was formed roughly around 1972-73 in Lancaster County in Pennsylvania. Landisville was where we rented a 'band house'. 3 of us Jeffrey Morrison (guitars), Jim Pontz (bass&guitars) and myself (drums) were still in High School then. Gael King (my older sister) was one of the 2 lead vocalist's in the band the other was Dan Glasse (first chair vocals&percussion) and the leader was keyboardist&guitarist Kenny Kaye. the single was recorded at Virtue Studios in Philadelphia and was produced by Pancho Villa. I have no recollection of who the engineer was (probably a studio staff person). it was released roughly in early 1973. we did not recoord any other material. Omnibus plerformed primarily in the North-East sector of the USA (PA, NY, DE, MD, NJ, etc.). the original line up split roughly in 1974. they continued w/o myself & my sister for a short while and then reformed as a new band named Torch who were very popular as well.
