The Hides  (Pennsylvania  -  US,  Garage Rock)  -  mało znane zespoły

Grupa z Irwin  (Westmoreland County - Pennsylvania, US)  założona w 1965r. przez dwóch piętnastolatków z Norwin High School - John Marsiglio i Ed Sam  (wcześniej  [1964]  w grupie The Runaways) - w składzie :

- John Marsiglio  -  vocals, lead guitar, autor tekstów  (John A. Marsiglio z Irwin, ur. 16.03. 1950r., uczeń

   Norwin High School, Irwin - class 1968)

- Ed Sam  -  bass  (Edward Michael Sam Jr. z Irwin, ur. w 1950r., uczeń Norwin High School - class 1968)

- Kenny Cheplick  -  rhythm guitar, vocals  (Kenneth Cheplick z pobliskiego Jeannette, PA)

- George Swanson  -  drums  (George Earl Swanson z Irwin, ur. 09.07. 1947r., pierwszy - początkowy

   perkusista zespołu)  -  zastąpiony wkrótce przez :

- Bruce Schutter  -  drums  (Bruce Robert Schutter z Jeannette, ur. 18.10. 1949r., zm. 31.05. 2014r.).

W okresie działalności  (1965 - 1967)  grupa wystepowała na imprezach tanecznych  (Manor American

Legion, Jr High School), a w 1966r. podczas sesji nagraniowej w Gateway Studio w Pittsburgh

zarejestrowała kilka nagrań  (własne kompozycje)  z których dwa :

- "When I See Te One I Love"  (Cheplick, Marsiglio)

Kilka miesięcy póżniej  (1967)  The Hides zakończyli działalność.

"...The Hides were formed in 1965.  Myself and Eddy Sam formed the band.  John Marsiglio..singer, song writer and played guitar.  Kenny Cheplick...guitar and sang.  George Swanson....drummer.  When George went to the service Bruce Schutter joined as drummer.  We performed Manor America Legion and Jr High dances.  The single was recorded at Gateway Studio In Pittsburgh.  We recorded three more songs in that session.  When I see the One I Love , Don't Be Difficult and Around the Bend.  The band dissolved in 1967.  The songs were not issued.  I started the band The Knobs in 1978.  The Knobs have a band page and are on Youtube.  Thank you for inquiring ..."
