Gruppo D' alternativa (ITA) - "Ipotesi" (1972, Prog Rock)

Gruppo D' alternativa (ITA) - Ipotesi (1972, Prog Rock)

Był on przedstawiany podczas występów
zespołu w styczniu 1972 roku w Teatro Uomo w Mediolanie. To bardziej teatralne przedsięwzięcie

  1. Ipotesi" , hypotheses are erected on the only album the Milan line up Gruppo d'Alternativo. This is a concept album about the enigmatic accidental death of a young man, to the question of whether he might have committed suicide. The album represents the (unfortunately quite short) extract a lot live longer work, a kind of free rock opera that (which can be heard on the album) from different-composed numbers, text recitations and extensive, improvisational sections existed.

A very own mixture of classic Italo prog, jazz-rock and chamber rock offer Gruppo d'Alternativo on "Ipotesi". On the basis of drying bass, guitar and drums Milan spinning complex sound textures, dominated by flute, guitar and keyboard (electric piano and organ) and sonically enhanced by chamber musical interludes by the bassoon. The result is a very independent mixture of jazz, rock and classical music, a Canterbury-style, complex, but quite earthy jazz rock, which also markedly classical-oriented at the same time, having symphonic component to chamber music embossed Prog bands such as Gentle Giant recalls. However some getting used to is Tino Guasconis vocals which comes jumped cutting and somewhat jarringly out of the speakers and your ears irritates unpleasant. "Ipotesi" was first released on CD of 2007. Unfortunately, it's AMS / Vinyl Magic failed raise the master tapes of the album. The LP, which therefore served as a template for CD production was, however, not in perfect condition. Grinding grooves make noise unfortunately the quieter parts of the album - of which there are few - unpleasantly. Otherwise, the whole thing is powerful and transparent produced. "Ipotesi" is certainly one of the most interesting and most original Prog-productions that have arisen in Italy in the first half of the 70s. I speak, therefore - despite the sonic shortcomings and somewhat annoying song - a recommendation for this album. Anyone interested in the Italian prog, complex jazz-rock and chamber progressive should go for it!
Little is known on the subject of the members, after the group disbanded. Leonardo Dosso after some time has been operating as an occasional guest at the Stormy Six in Their album Cliché and The Apprentice and at the end of his musical studies he devoted himself to chamber music, forming the Arnold Wind Quintet, and playing with them for over 20 years. He is therefore a teacher of bassoon and collaborating with ensembles of Baroque Music.
    Thx for reminding me :)
